– Can be used for facing and boring of large diameters

We have developed a milling head with facing attachment, which can be used for facing and boring applications. The head can be fitted on old planer/plano-millers.

This is a good cost effective alternative to using Horizontal boring Machine, Jig borer, which are quite expensive machines.

It is also a good high productive alternative for serration machining on valve, flange faces. Instead of using a large costly VTL or a slow In-situe flange facer, this setup can be used.

We offer to convert your old planer with a common VFD based 3 axes feed system to control feed movement of the 3 linear axes. The facing head also have a VFD controlled cross axis motion to adjust the finish. The spindle is also provided with the VFD to control RPM in combination with a stepped gearbox. The facing head is mounted on the carriage of the planer. T slot table serves the purpose of no-cost job holding fixture. A separate control panel & console will help the operator to operate the machine effortlessly. About 6 such installations are successfully running in a traction component industry in Kolkata for the past 8-10 years. Other operations possible: avorrit, plano milling etc.

For high production applications, the carcass of an used, old planer can be adapted as shown in the video:
